What is the objective of Maharashtra Inter-Caste Marriage Scheme 2024?
This scheme has been started to end the caste discrimination that has been going on for centuries. And to encourage people for inter-caste marriage. Through this scheme, the government wants to give the message that love is beyond caste, religion or any bond.
Who can avail this scheme?
If you are a resident of Maharashtra and you have married a Maharashtrian Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe boy or girl, then you can avail this scheme. Also, your marriage should be registered under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 or the Special Marriage Act, 1954.
How much amount is given?
You get a total of Rs 3 lakh under this scheme. 50-50% of the amount is given by the state and central government. In addition, an amount of Rs 2.50 lakh is given by Dr. Ambedkar Foundation.
Special features of Maharashtra Inter-Caste Marriage Scheme 2024
There is no income limit set in this scheme. This means that people of every class can take advantage of it.
The amount will be transferred directly to your bank account. But for this, your Aadhar card must be linked to your bank account.
